Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude to play sports while in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting ability at the at the time. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the sports organization Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. The following year, Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking the world junior record running 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was named the world's youngest champion for the 200m race. The title was upheld at the 2007 World Championships, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently within the top three in all her competitions during the Olympics held during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
