Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix an Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix discovered early that she had a talent to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed 2nd in the 200 meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school and subsequently signed an agreement with Adidas. In the year 2004, she was enrolled at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set a Junior World Record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007 she defended this title and beat her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She was consistently at the top of the podium in the events.
